Xingyiquan

形意拳 (Xíngyìquán) can be literally translated as;

FORM / SHAPE . INTENTION . FIST

‘Fist’ in this context means something closer to; ‘Boxing / Martial Art’.

Xingyi, as an ’empty-hand’ martial art, is heavily influenced by spear usage. It is the only one of the three ‘Internal’ martial arts of China (the other two being Tai Chi and Bagua) known to have been used by soldiers in war (the other two were used in more civilian contexts).
